Hi Judy!
I have an ECE background, and have experiencing training educators on curriculum usage in Infant/Toddler classrooms and planning for that age group. For infants, it would be the most developmentally appropriate to approach planning through a responsive caregiving lens. Meaning, focus first on planning for each individual's daily routines (diapering, napping, feeding, changing, hellos/goodbyes). Within those daily routines are opportunities for learning and exploration. For example, if you wanted or needed to plan for a "theme" focus on themes that are realistic and impact their daily lives and development. You could for example, focus on the sense of touch. Then, for each daily routine, plan for ways or opportunities for the infant to explore their sense of touch. Do you have any specific manipulatives for them to touch while changing diapers? Maybe one day focuses only on soft materials, the next day harder materials, etc.
I hope this helps!
Emily
