    Hi,

Most people in the age range that have young children do not read printed materials any longer.  You just have to look at what social media the people in your area are using.  Is it Facebook or Twitter or LinkedIn or what?  Word of mouth is the best advertisement.  If you know you are going to have a space opening tell your child care parents in advance so they can start telling their friends how awesome you are and recommend you to their friends.  We typically have a waiting list from word of mouth.  I also advertise on Facebook and do a little on Twitter.  I have found it effective to just run an inexpensive ad for my public page occasionally throughout the year to keep us in people's thoughts.  Maybe once a quarter unless I need to fill a space and it is getting close then I will run one ad a week on Facebook.  I just started posting a few things on Twitter last year.  I'm a little late to the game on that one.

Do you have a Facebook business page for your center? If not, I would make one. If you already have one, you can set up ads through it and choose how much you want to pay per day.

Make those posts about your business public.

Find local community pages for sharing your business.

Beware about not identifying children-no names, show backs of heads and busy hands.

    Do share often.

Hi! I agree with Robin that Facebook is a really nice way to advertise and choose the area and ages to market to. I would also recommend putting out signs if your location isn't largely visible from the street. Seeing that you're in California, I would also connect with First 5 California for help advertising and to see what programs they may have available to you.

    Hi Lubna!

Great question. I used to work at Child Care Aware of America, and am familiar with some tools that they offer for free to help providers market their program.

You can also connect with your local Child Care Resource & Referral agency. Many of them offer classes and training to help you promote your business. If you're not sure who your CCR&R is, you can search here: https://www.childcareaware.org/resources/ccrr-search-form/

    Best of luck!
    Meghan

Hello! I like to post my adds in the San Diego daycare groups on face book. Use Carina too.  Hope that helps.
