    Hey Folks
Not directly CLASS related but thought I would reach out the a group of experts :) We are hoping to beef up our "homework" practices for Pre-K 4; we'd like to offer ways for the learning to continue at home. What is everyone currently doing?

Personally I think children get enough homework when they get into regular school. :) But we do have children just starting preschool at age four.  Sometimes these children are behind the others who've been in preschool for years.  Our Pre-K teacher sends her lesson plan for the week to all the parents so they know what they are learning. If a child is struggling with something or needs some extra help she can tell the parent this is what we are working on and what they need to work on.

We send home weekly At Home Activity packets. They include such things as scavenger hunts for different letters, numerals; sorting socks; folding washcloths; daily reading; matching labels on can and boxes; circling letters in old magazines; looking for environmental print in the home and neighborhood; teaching the families songs the children learn at school; gross motor games outdoors; helping in the kitchen with setting table, measuring water, mil, other items during cooking; etc.
