Research from several studies suggests that there are thresholds (e.g., scores that need to be met) in order to see growth in child outcomes. There is general agreement that scores of 5, 5, & 3 are needed for us to see measurable growth in child outcomes (see attached slide). However, organizations can set their own benchmarks or targets for CLASS scores. If your organization has done that, it shows that they want for their classrooms to aim higher.

It is my understanding that CLASS initially identified ratings of 5,5,3 as a classroom that demonstrated quality interactions. Recently the rating increased to 6,6,4. Where can I find resources that explain the cause and date of this change? Thanks in advance.
