    Happy Monday Everyone!

I wanted to share this handout with you that helps teachers identify some effective teaching strategies to try when conducting classes online. This document is geared towards Pre-K and K-3, but it has some great information that can be translated to other age levels as well. I hope this is helpful!

    Best,
    Allison

    I appreciate the handout!  Thanks.
We are needing some help in putting an actual time schedule in place for virtual classrooms in the event we have to go to them at some point.
Do you have any suggested schedules?

As a coach I have learned that I am not always as clear as I think I am.  Many of us are transitioning to onsite, but many tasks are still happening virtually or with emails and recordings.  I found Erica Dhawan's presentation on Digital Body Language from LinkedIn to be helpful to me.  Who knew so much meaning is going with explanation marks and questions?  The questions that stood out for me:  Am I being clear about what I need?  Did I include the right people?  Am I intentional about when and what I expect in a response?  She also covered 6 rules to digitally communicate.  1.  Understand power dynamics.  2.  Give people the benefit of the doubt.  3.  Ask for clarity.  4.  Use the right channel and communicate your feelings.  5.  Learn from your responses over time.  6.  Create digital body language norms with your team.  When I was listening to her I came up with a question as well:  How do you show respect for time?

Since I found this helpful I wanted to share.  Let me know what you think.

Thanks very much for this resource Ayesha. It's so interesting to see the overlaps with and differences between in-person and virtual communication. Your summary is so helpful and I will seek out the LinkedIn reference you suggest. I think the focus on 'digital body language' is crucial as we wade into these new and sometimes choppy waters of virtual coaching and teaching. And if it's a reminder always to be clear in communications, well then that's all to the good.
