I am working with a teacher who is very "old school" and willing to implement some modifications as we discuss them but some "classy" ideas are harder to sell. For instance, she insists on eye contact when she is correcting a child (it's more like fussing but I'm working on that too!). Does anyone have a resource to offer about the issue of respect when it comes to eye contact? We have reviewed issues related to culture and neurodiversity but she claims that it's ok because her students don't fit those categories (that she's aware) and that it means they are listening to her. Thanks in advance.
