    Hello , can someone please tell me if your doing your CDA " renewal" do you also need to create a portfolio ? Thank you

    Before starting your CDA renewal application, please complete the following steps.


    Attend continuing education or training courses specific to your credential type. You must be able to document 45 clock hours, 4.5 CEUs, or a 3 credit hour college course in early childhood education or child development.
    Choose an early childhood education (ECE) professional to write your Recommendation and verify your work hours.
    Achieve First Aid and Infant/Child (Pediatric) CPR certification.
    Work at least 80 hours with young children (specific to your credential type) within the past year.
    Join or renew your individual or center membership in a national or local early childhood professional organization

    Other requirements:

    • A valid email address (Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo)
    • Your ECE Reviewer's valid email address
    • Must be able to scan and upload your documents directly to your on-line application
    • Name Change (optional): If your name is different from how it appears on your current CDA Credential, please fax official documentation to show proof of this change. Example: Marriage certificate or divorce decree. Please note, this proof must be received BEFORE you submit your application. Please fax to 202-265-9161.
