    The strategies I would use to connect with my pre-k students is always doing morning check ins like how are you feeling today.

    Greet and acknowledge them individually. Observe and give time and space before interacting with them. Be present.

    Use music and movement to help children learn and get acclimated to their new environment. Always remain calm and if you have to be firm speak with them closely at eye level and reaffirm your reason children should be seen and heard. Remember we have to teach Social and emotional skills. Get the book title I Love You Rituals from Conscious Discipline. Let them know they are welcomed. Children don't care how you sing be silly with getting them to know their name, transitions snd etc,

    I love to work/play with children one on one for a few mintues a day to learn about them or teaching them something new.
