Does anyone have a virtual schedule for PreK that you wouldn't mind sharing? ie, total amount of time allotted each day, etc. ------------------------------ Sandra Marcum Richmond IN ------------------------------

I appreciate the handout! Thanks. We are needing some help in putting an actual time schedule in place for virtual classrooms in the event we have to go to them at some point. Do you have any suggested schedules? ------------------------------ Sandra Marcum Richmond IN --------------------- ...

A lot of meetings and brainstorming while perusing CDC and Head Start guidelines for opening, we are pulling soft items such as Conscious Discipline Feeling Buddies. We are leaving area rugs because every classroom will be cleaned and fogged nightly. We have students 4 days and are using Wednesday as ...

We are opening our Head Start classrooms August 17. We are back in our offices and brain storming what the best ways are to keep our children and staff well, what is best to pull from the classrooms, and what is best to keep, revised procedures. We have children 4 days and will close on Wednesday to ...

Has anyone conducted a pre-observation meeting with classroom staff for the Spring sessions? We are trying this for the first time. Taking the Fall data and meeting with staff to discuss the areas that need improvement and providing helps to accomplish that. We think this proactive approach will be ...

There are two of us certified to conduct 13 classroom observations and we trade off so that the same person does not do the same class both Fall & Spring. I have no stats to prove our theory, but because individual perception plays a part regardless of the same certification, we think it is beneficial ...

I should have stated more clearly...the question is regarding Reviews, not doing them after the CLASS Observation, but holding a pre-CLASS Observation meeting with the classroom staff, then doing the observation, then send the report with comparisons to previous quarters, and holding post meetings per ...

My understanding is that it is both...using a variety of words while also introducing more difficult words, and even a second language such as Spanish, although according to the manual, page 75, it is not counted High because of teacher using 2 languages. Language Modeling is when there are frequent ...

I'm making a new post because I am not able to post anything except private. (Maybe someone can help me with this.) We have classrooms that excel in this area, while others struggle. Often it is due to new staff or more 3-year-olds. There are many ways to help the children regulate how many can be ...

I also wanted to note that you should never give a perfect code for anything. Master Coders do not. However, I have observed many times when a perfect score IS warranted and therefore I give it. I see this more in the Spring observations. ------------------------------ Sandra Marcum Richmond IN ...

Leah, you are the first person I have come across who passes the first time. Kudos. Even one of the people instrumental in choosing this program for coding did not pass the first time! That speaks volumes. I still think, as do others, based on this Community, it is a perception issue as to why we do ...

I absolutely agree! It is simply not logical that so many people, the majority, have such trouble re-certifying! This would point the finger back to the test, not the testees. I think a checklist would be better. List the things observer should look for, if these things are being done, rate them low, ...

The Observation Sheet is to take into the classroom when observing, for notes and scores. The Scoring Summary Sheet is for all scores and formulating percentages. The Scoring Summary Sheet can be done any time because it is just transferring the scores, times, etc. ------------------------------ ...
