Bio

Sherilyn (Sheri) has been in the field of Early Childhood Education for over twenty years; her career began while living in Las Vegas, Nevada! Her first position in the field was as a toddler classroom aide in the mornings, and then driving the bus to pick up the school-age children for the afternoon! Since those early days, her professional experience includes child-care directing, preschool teaching, parent education, and training adults in the field. During her years serving as a Head Start Education Coordinator/Supervisor, Sherilyn became a CLASS observer and then an affiliate CLASS trainer.

Sheri is currently the Online Learning Manager at Teachstone, Inc. and holds a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from Western Michigan University and an M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from the University of the Southwest. Her start in early childhood working with toddlers and school-age children has led her along a path of teaching, coaching, and childcare administration. Securing a Child Development Associate (CDA) early in her career, she advocates for supportive practices in adult learning to improve the quality of early childhood education. Sheri supports a team of online facilitators and students and empowers early childhood educators through thoughtful and relevant professional development opportunities.

Sheri is originally from Michigan, and currently resides near South Bend, Indiana—not too far from Chicago, in an area nicknamed “Michiana.” She loves her home state of Michigan and spends summers exploring the beaches and beach communities along the Great Lakes. Each summer includes a camping trip or two as well! She enjoys writing and reading poetry, visiting historical sites and landmarks, watching excellent movies, and spending time with family and her big Weimaraner, Porter Blue!
