Hello everyone, I wanted to know if there are any programs that have any ideas on how to set up the classroom environment for Fall? If so, would it be possible to show a picture of how the environment/classroom will be  set up for Social Distancing. I have some ideas of a classroom set up from Lakeshore. Just wanted to know if there are any other resources available.

      Thank you

I want to be in on this as well!  We have some general thoughts in mind but have not been finding a lot of information to guide us.

Hi @Sonia Lasley! I know this is not specific to classroom setup, but this article may contain some helpful information! I look forward to hearing what other providers are doing as they prepare classroom environments.

This article was very helpful. I'm going to pass it on to my Director of our center.

    Hello,
Yes, I also agree that this article was very helpful. I go back to school on August 10th and there will be 2 weeks of professional development, training,  and setting up the classroom for social distancing.

Some of our Head Starts are doing a 4-week summer program.  Class sizes are at 10 and they have rearranged the furniture so that the centers are a bit more "separated" and defined.   Only two preschoolers are allowed in each center so materials reflect that.  For example, only two chairs at the table in the puzzle area at opposite ends of the table.  Same with the art table, etc.  I am anxious to find out how they think that worked and what their challenges are.  It is a bit of a test run for fall.

I would like to hear what they think about that set up.  I'm going between setting up classrooms with fewer interest areas to make them bigger or creating play area for individual children with a set of various materials in each area.

    Hi,
I was thinking that we could use 10 individual "desk-type" stations; but I can see putting 2 students (one at each end) at a table. But how did everything go? I know we are all looking forward to this "new" learning environment.
