    Hi-

I have completed my certification for Infant, Toddler, and Pre-K.  Do we ever get to see the answers to know which dimensions we got wrong?  While I have studied the exemplars for each group, I still think I would understand better if I knew exactly which videos I got wrong.  I was told in my Pre-K certification that I was under the master codes and then I took Toddlers I was over the master codes.  So I really need to see why I got which ones wrong so I can get back on track to the master codes.  I got all the Pre-K practice videos correct during training (and I did them independently) but I was not that successful on the test. So to feel confident doing these observations on my own, I feel I need clarity on the videos on tested on.

    Thank you.

    Hi @Kelly Brenner,

Thank you so much for reaching out! Unfortunately, we are unable to share the master codes for any of the testing videos, so you will not know which videos you had more trouble with than others. You do get access to a score report that shares the dimensions and domains that you scored correctly, so this is a great guide to see which dimensions you want to focus on and if you tend to score higher or lower. I hope this helps!

    Best,

I understand why I can't have the scores from my tests, but I do feel like it is a teachable moment that is missed.  Looking at exemplares, we know what right looks like.  It is harder to understand the mids and lows.  Are there any videos in each of these areas that I could watch?  I have found I refer back to the master code book to try and see how they see the room and score it.  I do my best to recall the video.  But many times they see the events differently than myself.  If I could practice on videos in the low or mid range, I think it would help.  Especially since I no longer have access to the practice videos we did in training.

    Thanks so much.

Many years ago observers did get the scores and it was very helpful to see where you may have scored differently than the master coder. I found it, as many of my past colleagues, very helpful... especially if you are struggling in an particular area. It would also help of you could get the scores and review the video for clarity. I hope you eventually pass and best wishes.

    Rebecca,
I, too, remember when we received the scores and it was so helpful to go back and see where we overscored/underscored even if it was only 1 dimension.  Every bit of feedback helps us improve.  I know I would look at the recertification process as more of a learning experience if this practice were brought back.  I also agree with Deborah Jones in that it is "a stressful test for everyone".

Kelly, I completely agree with you. This could have been a teachable moment. I too passed everything in my prep for the real test. I have taken the official one only once and did not pass. Not being able to see where my mistakes were made does nothing to further my understanding. I have a doctorate in curriculum and instruction and don't feel this is best practices.

I agree that it makes it very difficult to become proficient in scoring because you can never see the scores to see where you fell short in. It is a stressful test for everyone I know.
