It's overwhelming trying to observe a mix age group when the ages range from infants to 4 year olds.It's easier if you plan to focus on one area at a time: motor skills, language development or social skills. Observer needs to know what is developmental appropriate for infants, toddlers, and preschool age children. I think the focus is on what you see, hear, and what the child/children are doing. Taking observation notes so you can go back to evaluate growth or needs.
