  • 1.  Encouraging children who are difficult to teach

I find it hard sometimes to encourage every student in the same the way, especially for the students who are challenging.  But after taking this courses through teachstone, I have a new perspective on technique strategies to help navigate students in their journey of growth.  It really starts with us as teachers to make sure we are helping others do their best and hit those growth marks, benchmarks, and growth i learning concepts before they reach school age.  Just a thought, we can all use encouragement as teachers as we grow and see our students be successful in their futures.

@Sonya Pisani this is wonderful to hear that you were able to gain new perspectives and techniques through our courses! Which courses did you take that were helpful to you?

And I agree, encouragement as teachers is so valuable to not only us, but to the students as well.

This focus is beneficial for illustrating the importance of the adult and the child or children in the process. How can we co-regulate without ensuring we are engaged in strategies that help with calm. It is appreciated that it was stated we don't need to know the details of a trauma to address it. What we notice has power, but not as much as the follow-through mentioned here. Once it has been figured out what emotions are happening it is helpful with moving into executive functioning, but none of that can be addressed authentically until trust has been established. You as an educator, have you shared what works for your balance with your co-teacher? If not, what can help you in seeing the value of opening up in this way? Until next time, continue to take care of you so you can take care of others.

I would break my class group down to smaller groups so I can sit and work with that child better. I would tell that child it ok we are goning to work through this together. That will make the child feel as he or she really has someone to help them. Let them k ow that it's ok if they can't do that the other children are doing . Everyone one don't learn the same or at the same paste.

Thank you for responding so quickly and sharing your experience. Every perspective matters. Small group is another area I am super curious as to what others are implementing. Take care and have an adventurous day.
