Family and community engagement is the foundation of thriving partnerships with younger children. It is important for me as an educator to really lean in and develop that one on one contact with each family to ensure they receive the tools and resources that are needed for their family's success. The engagement strategies that we use in our program involves activities such as a male initiative event. This activity promoted interactive outside play with primarily a male figure; extended family members such as, uncle, grandfather, and/or brother. We as educators and some that stay in the community know that it is important in our culture for males to have a positive influence on younger children lives.

It's so wonderful that you're prioritizing family and community engagement in your work as an educator! Building those one-on-one connections with families is key to supporting children's success. Your male initiative event is a fantastic example of how you're fostering positive relationships and promoting the importance of male role models in children's lives. These kinds of initiatives help create a strong foundation for both family engagement and cultural relevance, which is so impactful. Keep up the great work in developing those meaningful connections! 😊
