Greetings all,
Our assessors are meeting to discuss each of the assessment tools that we use. As part of our discussion within the dimension of Facilitation of Learning and Development within the toddler tool, we find ourselves wondering about children's active engagement and how that indicator can really skew the score for this dimension. A teacher can score in the low range of Active Facilitation and Expansion of Cognition, but if the children are actively engaging with materials that indicator can score in the high range. So a teacher who might score within the low range in terms of their participation would receive a mid range score for this entire dimension. Any thoughts about this? Will there be changes in the forthcoming updated Infant/Toddler tool?
Thanks,
Nikki
