Hello! This is a very common concern in Head Start π
A few tips that have helped programs with CLASS video observations:
Normalize the nerves - remind teachers this is just a snapshot of everyday interactions, not a performance.
Practice recordings (even short ones) can really help teachers feel more comfortable with the camera.
Keep it authentic - CLASS looks for typical routines and interactions, not a "perfect" lesson.
Set clear roles for the person recording so they stay unobtrusive during the cycle.
Frame it as support - the goal is reflection, growth, and strengthening interactions.
Would love to hear what's worked well for others!

Subject: Head Start CLASS Video Observation
Hi- I am wondering if anyone has tips or feedback for programs in Head Start that have to do the video CLASS recordings this year. I am hoping to ease the nerves for the teachers and also to get any tips I can give to my education director that is doing the recording.
Thanks in advance for any ideas or tips you can share. :)
