    Happy 1st of October!!

If you're anything like me, October is one of your favorite months for so many reasons—whether it’s the changing seasons or my personal favorite, Halloween! When I was a lead teacher in a Pre-K classroom, it also marked the beginning of some of my most-loved art projects and bulletin board designs for the upcoming holidays. I would start planning months in advance, simply out of excitement!

While the holidays are a lot of fun, they can also be stressful and sometimes bring up challenging topics. These topics, although challenging, can spark meaningful conversations about balancing tradition with inclusivity, engaging students from diverse backgrounds, and building a sense of community during the holiday season. I listed a few below and would love to share some insight on how these are handled for everyone!

    • How do you integrate holiday-related activities into your curriculum to create meaningful learning experiences?
    • How do you ensure that your holiday celebrations in the classroom are inclusive of all students and their diverse backgrounds?
    • Can you share examples of activities or lessons that highlight cultural diversity during the holidays?
    • How do you support students who may feel left out or uncomfortable during holiday celebrations in the classroom?

If you have additional insights or questions, please list them below!

    Best,

    Rachel
