Hello,
Any instance of severe negativity brings that indicator range to a high, but that is not true for the other indicators.Without seeing the wrestling/restraint, it is hard to know if it would count as severe. There is a scoring note in the 2nd Edition that's about physical touch/restraint. It sounds like, in this case, it was rough, and the educator expressed irritability. There's no way to comment on a specific score without seeing all the interactions. The observer should still follow the table in the manual that helps with deciding on a score across indicators.
Let us know if you have any other questions!

Preschool score book - on negative climate - I'm aware any instance is automatically a high, not medium. Of the 4 bulleted indicators, teacher used a threat (punitive control) and physically restrained a child by wrestling her into submission to take away a book (also punitive) and used a very angry voice (negative affect).....would the non-reversed scored be a 4 or 5?
I recall on the 1-7 scale, mediums shift a number 1 number either way while a high moves it two numbers.
