Just wanted to share my "ah-ha" moment that I heard on this CLASS podcast on instructional support… We give teacher's prompts to encourage open-ended questioning (Why, how, what…), but the idea to use "I see…" as a prompt for positive specific praise was a light bulb for me.
Encourage teachers to start out with an "I see" phrase and then
end with the praise. Ex: "I see that you that you helped pick up the blocks, great job." I've shared with teacher's before to give more specific feedback instead of just "good jobs", but I'd never really thought of a prompt to give them to help make it more consistent.
Thank you!
