Hello CLC members!
We feel so excited and lucky to have gotten the chance to read stories from over 50 incredible applicants this year. Determining the scholarship recipients was an incredibly difficult decision, but we are excited to share our three scholarship recipients with you!
Desiree Richotte - Head Start Hero Scholarship Recipient
Desiree is an educator with nearly two decades of experience in the field of Education. She is passionate about finding a unique spark in all students and educators. Her areas of strength include diversity and trauma-informed educaton, and strongly believes that behavior is communication. She is currently an Educational Consultant with a Tribal Head Start Program and an enrolled Tribal Member herself. She is invested professionally and personally in the learning opportunities of Indigenous youth.
Pamela Thompson - Coach with CLASS Scholarship Recipient
Pamela is a multi-racial professional serving the same population of which she was a member as a child. Her mother is also an early childhood educator, so she grew up in a Head Start classroom and quickly realized her love for working with our youngest citizens. As a coach, her primary mission is to support overall program quality improvement, professional growth of educators, and, ultimately, child development through responsive, proactive, iterative, and strength-based support. CLASS is one of the main tools she uses to accomplish these objectives.
Andrea Asciutto - Local Leader Scholarship Recipient
Andrea is a Literacy and Instructional coach for three counties in Florida. She is very passionate about children and the lasting impressions and changes that excellent teaching will bring to our communities. She is passionate about language development and stimulating language. She is also passionate about building culture and encouraging goal-setting to ensure those around her have a path to success. She feels deeply connected to the educators she works with and their shared passion for their work.
