    Hi everyone,

How do you help children move from

Playtime to clean-up or the next activity

    Without frustration?

I would love to hear your tips!

Hi! With Waddler, using specific music and a set time for "clean-up time" has really worked for me. It was so sweet to see the connection we were able to build through the music.

I use a picture schedule and transition songs.

During transitions from playtime to cleanup, I use music to make the process fun and engaging for my students. I play a song that encourages them to dance while cleaning, which helps create a positive atmosphere. Since implementing this approach, I've noticed that transitions have become much smoother and more enjoyable for the children

Music is the best healer. Clean-up songs and good. As children copy from adults, we should help them in clean-up, so they would do the same. Give them a pat or some kind words after they have done a good job, for further encouragement.

Transitions can be a great time for counting, singing, reflecting on what was learned, and notice of the language that is used. Transitions that make the most of teachable moments are fun and engaging. Many teachers facilitate in different ways and some songs can be sung many times over a few weeks as long as the students are still interested. Do what is fun to you and your group. Sometimes it can be a moment to just breathe. Really depends on the flow of the classroom. Change it up when needed and be open to the opportunities. Let some love show in these moments throughout the day. "Love isn't a state of perfect caring. It is an active noun like "struggle." To love someone is to strive to accept that person exactly the way he or she is, right here and now." -Mr. Rogers

    Hi Hana,

    • I think simple songs or rhymes are the best and easy ways which helps children during transition keeping their moods happy and focused.
    • Sometimes, countdowns and timers help kids understand what comes next and are prepared for it.
    • Or may be a structured visual chart for the older kids to know what's next in the schedule.

    Hope this helps!! Good luck
