This Edutopia article, Simple Supports to Decrease Fight-or-Flight Behavior, has excellent ideas around supporting students' emotional regulation to create a positive learning environment.

Do any of you find play-doh or other sensory tools helpful? Or have other strategies that have worked when kids become overwhelmed and go into fight or flight?  It reminds me of the power of the 3 R's too: Responsiveness, Relationships, Routines
