What do you want to hear on the podcast?

  • 1.  What do you want to hear on the podcast?

    Posted 12-05-2022 16:35
    Happy Monday, everyone!

I would love to hear from you, what types of topics would you be most interested in us covering on the Teaching with CLASS Podcast? Recently at Coffee with CLASS at NAEYC, a community member suggested an episode breaking down concept development, which I think is a great idea!

    • Are there other topics you'd want a breakdown of?
    • What are you struggling with most in your classroom?
    • Do you want to hear from experts, or would you rather learn from other educators?
We always want to make episodes that are relevant and useful for you, so thank you for sharing your opinions!

    Best,
    Allison

    Thank you, @Jessica Pablo!

I am so glad you've enjoyed the Spanish episodes this season. Next season, would you like us to create a Spanish resource for every English episode that isn't also recorded in Spanish? Or do you prefer listening to the content over downloading the resource?

    Hi @Wendy Johnston,

You can always find the Teaching with CLASS Podcast on our website, through the homepage of the community, or on any podcast platform! I also share here in the CLC every time a new episode launches with a discussion post, and often a resource for the tips shared. If you ever need help finding the resources after listening to some episodes, please let me know! I am happy to help.

Good morning Latasha my name is Mary I am a pre- K teacher and been for 30 years and what I do is first focus on  getting them use to the classroom especially if this is the child's first time in a learning setting and help build a connection with child that helps them feel that sense of security with  you and the classroom. Once that is established I get to know the child likes dislikes I talk with child parents and get some feed back from them because who better to ask for ideas the parent knows their child best and explain what you observed. Once you have a better understanding of the child and have some more information to work from . Gradually start with small lessons or tasks with a few friends in the classroom and help build the child confidence and develop that relationship with them and you will find going forward it will be easier to get them involved in the classroom with learning. Just keep in mind that some children respond differently to approaches and you just have to establish that connection with that child and get to know them as an individual before you can figure out what will work best for that child. I hope this helps

I would love a deeper dive at examples of Social Studies and Science since these are not covered in TSG and it is challenging for teachers to think about this at an infant and toddler age.

Teachstone has created a curriculum Making the Most of Classroom Interactions (MMCI). I am a certified trainer.  This is a 12 weeks course that dives into each dimension.  I have been able to complete 4 cohorts so far and the feedback is tremendous!

I encourage you to look into this in your area!  My class is virtual so I am able to support teachers from my state!
