Hi there! Thank you so much for reaching out.
Finding your CLASS scores will vary depending on your organization, as some only share composite scores with the educators, while others show the full CLASS observation scoring sheets - or anything in between. If your organization utilizes the myTeachstone platform for observations, you may be able to find your scores there. I would recommend reaching out to your administrator or whoever let you know that your composite score was below a 5 to see if they can share more information with you.
In case this helps, the composite score is essentially the average score. Here is some information I found in one of our resources that might help to understand the score!
Each classroom dimension receives a score ranging from 1 (minimally characteristic of the classroom) to 7 (highly characteristic of the classroom). Composite scores for each dimension are created by averaging individual cycle scores across the number of cycles of observation completed. Composite scores for each domain are created by averaging dimension composite scores across the number of dimensions within the domain. The Negative Climate composite score is reversed before calculating the domain average.
I really hope this helps, please reach out with any additional questions!
Best,
Allison
