Could a social emotional task be considered for this? For example, if a student who is working on sharing, actually sees a student upset and then shares something with a student, would this be considered EA under Quality of Feedback if the teacher states, "Wow, I know that was hard for you to share! I am proud of you".

Yes, this can absolutely count as Encouragement and Affirmation within Quality of Feedback.

The teacher’s response goes beyond general praise by naming the effort (“I know that was hard…”) and connecting it to the specific behavior (sharing). That kind of specific, process-focused feedback is exactly what we look for in this indicator.

Even though it’s a social-emotional moment (not academic), it still counts, the key is how the teacher responds, not the type of skill.
