How does Renewal work? What are the steps?

I just passed my first CLASS test (Pre-K-3rd Reliability Test) and I understand the CLASS Cert must be renewed each year.

I have a few questions in regards to the ANNUAL requirements:

  1. Is there is a fee? If so, what is the cost and does it vary depending on the test?
  2. Within how many days does the renewal have to happen from the original date? Within the month, within the week or on the exact day of the original passing?
  3. What is the renewal test like….is it the same as the first time around…must watch 5 videos and score 80% and above?
  4. Any other info is helpful. Thanks!!

Hello @Yvonnia Ramirez,

Thanks for reaching out and congrats on passing your test!! I am happy to answer your questions below:

  1. Yes, there is a fee, to renew there will be a link on your certification tile when it gets close to your year mark, where you can click to purchased your renewal. You can click HERE to view that cost as well.
  2. On your certification tile, you will see your CLASS 2nd Edition Observer certificate. It will show you that you can begin your renewal (recertification) on 10/15/2025, 8 weeks before your certificate expires (12/10/2025).
  3. The reliability test is similar to the first test you took.
  4. If you fail your first and second attempts, be sure to contact Reliability Support to set up a time to meet over Zoom so that they can assist you so you can pass your test.

I believe that's all, but feel free to reach out if you have any other questions!

best,
Rachel
