Good morning -

I am in charge of training new teachers on CLASS.  I would appreciate hearing from other people on how how they introduce CLASS to new teachers and teacher assistants.

What do you teach them?

How do you teach them?

What have you found to be most effective in teaching them so that they retain the information and are able to go into their classrooms and apply CLASS strategies?

CLASS is a challenge at times even for seasoned teachers to pick up on.  How can I effectively help new teachers and teacher assistants to have a basic knowledge of CLASS, remember/apply what they are taught and not feel overwhelmed?

Thank you :)

This is a great question and I look forward to seeing who responds and what they have experienced and any advice they have to offer!

I'd spend a lot of time just helping them understand what an interaction is.  How the basis for interactions is about emotional connection.  The Dimensions Guides and Facilitator's Guides are helpful.  There are plenty of resources on the website and they may also be helpful.
