Hi all!  I recently learned at an Early Learning Coalition meeting in SWFL that, as of July, the Infant and Toddler CLASS tools will be combined to include both age levels, and there would now be additional dimensions.  Since I am a certified Infant observer and up for renewal in May, I am concerned that I wasn't directly notified of this change and what it will mean for my certification renewal process.  Will training in the new tool be necessary before re-certification?  Can someone let me know what the process will be for observers in order to implement this change?  Also, when will observers be informed officially?  Thanks in advance for any guidance. Regards, Marie Liebensohn

I am certified in the previous version of CLASS, while four of our Early Head Start center supervisors are certified in the new combined Infant–Toddler CLASS. Because the certifications do not transfer, each version requires completing the full certification process, including the course and assessments. The certifications are entirely separate, which is what I was informed when I initially registered our center supervisors.

Thank you, Gail, for the additional information based upon your experience at your Head Start program.

To your understanding, will the former separate Infant and Toddler certifications become obsolete?  And does this mean that the only recourse for previously certified observers in these areas is to take the new course, exam, etc.?  When will observers be told by Teachstone what next steps are?
