I have been out of the observation process a couple of year and not sure where to start in re-certifying.  What do I need to do?

Thanks for reaching out! We’re glad you’re ready to jump back into observing.

If it’s been a couple of years since your last certification, you’ll need to retrain and then recertify to be sure you’re aligned with the most up-to-date CLASS® tool and scoring practices. Here’s the general process:

  1. Determine which age level(s) you need (Infant, Toddler, Pre-K, K–3, Upper Elementary, or Secondary).

  2. Register for the CLASS® Observation Training for that age level. This will refresh your knowledge of the tool, scoring, and the observation process.

  3. Complete the certification test for that age level once your training is complete. Passing the test will earn you a new 1-year certification.

If you’re not sure which training or test is right for you, our team can help.
