Good morning, I was looking for resources to help teachers that are struggling in supporting children in asking and answering questions.  Trying to go beyond the yes, no, one correct answer questions to more open ended questions.  Send any ideas you have my way.

Thank you,

Liz

A coach can be vital for helping with the focus on questions. Many teachers excel when it comes to what, did, and where questions. As a coach there were times I was asked to focus on each kind of question that was asked. When the teacher had the opportunity to have feedback on what was observed sometimes they were surprised. It can be challenging to focus on how questions when vigilant about following the schedule. Sometimes posting visuals of questions can help or having a little book of them attached to each teacher as a reference point. Each teacher needs to find what works for them in doable steps. Just adding one how question per learning opportunity can open perspective over time with the value of exploratory and play based learning in all environments, no matter the curriculum being followed. Looking at your day as an adventure for discovery opens the minds of all you touch. Happy learning!
